Carburetor leak

Wed Jun 06, 2012 8:30 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

After a recent ride, I noticed my bike was dripping a reddish fluid from the bottom of the crankcase. Today, I traced it to the carburetor and noticed the bottom portion was coated in the oily red stuff. Any guess as to what it is? Gasoline perhaps? None of my fluids have a red tint to them...

What colour is you 2T oil, the TTS Castrol I use is bright red.

Check the 2T oil feeds for a leak, starting from your carbs back up to the tanks.

Not red. I use honda ultra gr2. But I will get the gas tank off and take a closer look at the carbs.

Here you can see where its leaking. Can't pinpoint exactly where without taking off the carb...

The reddish brown fluid

Is it spent gasoline/blowback?
