Hi Newbie here...

Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:35 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all, picked up mention of this forum from the 2-strokes forum which i just don't seem able to get registered on for some reason. Anyone else having trouble on there?

Anyway saw a post about a track day at Donnington in July organised by folk in here so thought i would join you good people as i would like to join in on that if possible.

I own, amongst other things, an RS250 NXA so i am guessing this is the right section to introduce myself.

I will have a cruise around the forums and see if i can get familiar with folk.

I am new to these high maintenance two strokes so probably looking for more support from you good people than i can offer in return but will try my best to help anyone if i can Very Happy

So, this Donnington, where is the main thread?

Cheers

Simon

Blimey, this is posh ... a forum with a spell chekker Cool

Hi Simon, and welcome to NSR-WORLD.COM

It would be great to see you and the NXA at Donington. The date is the 24th of July, and we're encouraging everyone to book into inters so we can pretty much try and fill the group.

The day itself is being run by No Limits. http://www.nolimitstrackdays.com/acatalog/Donington240712.html

There will be at least three NSR500V's on track, and a YZR500, plus we are hoping an NS500 will be there, plus hoping for a couple of ex-GP250s too, and of course a load of the NSRs and RSs from the forum here.

Should be a great day. Smile

The 500's will be running on Elf MITS42 FIM Race Fuel, but I expect a couple of the RS guys may be interested in sharing a drum of AVGAS. They are actually more active in the NSR250 discussion area (as they own/owned NSR250 road bikes too), so maybe mention it in the track day thread and see if you get any feedback.

Supporting members can add attachments to post, but you can insert an image using the [img][/img] tags.

For example, [img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7211/7347841848_7d67b88857.jpg[/img] will display this:

Just above your photo on Flickr is a "share" button, use the "Grab BBCode" and look for the .jpg part. You can just use all of their code, but then get all the Flickr crap that goes with it!

Eg. [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/simon_o/7347841848/][img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7211/7347841848_7d67b88857.jpg[/img][/url]

Welcome to the forum! Nice to have some fresh blood!!

I usually sort my own avgas from a local airfield, in fact I still have 20 litres from last years track day.

How much do you get it formin a drum?

Hi there, thanks for the welcome.

The drums are 50 litres but like you, i also go to a local airfield and buy it by the gerry can.

If youve got 20 litres, i also already have about 15 litres then that should be enough for both of us

Cheers

I've never bought Avgas by the drum, reckoned with fuel duty it'd be crazy expensive. I go to the same place as watfordhorn, £2 a litre I think.

Got 30-35 litres you guys can borrow if my RS isn't ready by then.

Is that your padgetts NXA that Andy posted? Or am I getting confused. Ex McGuiness isn't it?

Hi racer38, are you comming to Donny then even if your bike isn't ready?

Yes mine is ex McGuinness and signed by the man himself, its only done 3 races and completely standard and on it's original crank/barrels/heads etc and still not near the mileage change yet.... lovely bike.

Hoping it will fetch me some money in the future because i havent got a pension plan ...lol

My plan is to come..... depends if the new scoot arrives in time. To be honest I'll come even if I'm not riding. You never know, Steve might need some advice setting up the NSR500. Wink
