crankshaft movement

Hi people
just fitting some new clutch plates to my mc16 took the engine casing off tonight and there seems to be( i think )a very small amount of play in the crankshaft,theres no knocking when running. i'm worried!

where are you noticing the play, on the primary drive gear? is it axial or radial or rotational

it's on the primary drive and the radial movement thats concerning it's strange as the engine runs well and seems quiet no knocking or rumbling.

I knew this time would come one day looks like its the big bottom end rebuild this winter! Sad
