I've been reading some info on here stating that I should be using Unleaded fuel on my MC28. My mechanic tells me that the leaded fuel, which does not have any ethanol is what I should really be running as it offers better lubrication and will be just fine, actually better for the motor. I was planning on using Sunoco 112. There are no catalytic converter to worry about, so why unleaded?
Now I'm NOT an expert but I feel sure that most lubricant manufacturers today develop their oils for use with 'un-leaded' fuel. I am prepared to be corrected on this though!
I remember talking with someone from Castrol some years ago who said that their Castrol 2 stroke oil (TT I think??) had been developed with 'leaded' fuel and that the ELF oil that I was using had been developed with un-leaded fuels and was probably better.
This was back in my karting days...and you can't get much more higher stressed 2 stroke motors.

A standard motors squish, volume and jetting is set up for unleaded. Leaded fuel can have a benifit but on a road bike I wouldn't bother. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
