Ive just completed (well almost) an upgrade on my MC21. New pipes, reeds, rejetted, new heads, suspension etc. My problem is now that the power valves won't work.
My old PGMIII burnt out pre-upgrade and I had it repaired and tested by 2strokeracelab and returned to me. While it was away being repaired I cleaned the powervalves (which were very coked up), which now turn with ease. Popped the cables back on and turned the servo by hand to ensure the servo also turned.
Got the PGM back and put it into my new ish looking bike. The bike runs, but no action on the powervalves. I rode it with the valves manually closed, then open. When closed it wouldn't rev up (as expected) and when open it went nuts at 8000rpm. So no other running issues that I could see.
So the PGMIII is good (I think), so is there must be something else preventing the operation. Can anyone help me with this?
I've searched the forum but most issues come down to the PGM, which I believe is fine. This is the only thing stopping me from getting on the race track!
I would remove the cables from the power valve servo and start the engine.
Gently run the engine up and down over 3,000 rpm. The servo should sweep from full Low to full Hi.
If it doesn't I'd take the back of the PGM off and have another look and see if its burned the transistors out again. If it hasn't and the wiring looks correct then you need to find another servo motor. If the servo motor is faulty it will of most likely already burn the PGM out again. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
You can also remove the connector to the RC valve servo and run it with 12 volt.
Connect 12V to W and W/R for a second and see if the valves move. Swop the 12V wires (to reverse polarity) and see if they move in the other direction. _________________ Poul
