MC21 Carb Screw Sets

Thu Feb 07, 2013 6:56 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Does anyone know where I can locate some new MC21 carb screw sets? The part number is 16016-kv3-770 or 16016-gf5-741. It seems that Honda has discontinued these, and although some websites say they have them, when calling, they actually don't. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Do they have to be genuine Honda?

If not, they're a pretty generic thread and you should be able to find them in Screwfix Direct or your hardware store of choice!

Possibly go to a yacht dealer and get some stainless ones...

Guys, the part numbers supplied are for an airscrew and spring set. Please check your facts before offering advice.

We could probably do them, but I am away now, and won't be back until April. Your best bet in the time being may be to find a second hand set of carbs, if your air screws really are in need of replacement. I can't say I've ever personally seen any that are, although I guess the slot in the head of one/both could be chewed up? I've never seen a damaged taper on one though.

Thanks for the responses everyone, but it's not really the screw that is the issue, but like Andy says, this part number also has the springs which is what really seems to be the issue. Spending the money on a second set of carbs seems a little overkill for a couple of springs. I guess I can try and source some other springs from something else, but I was just trying to fit the OEM stuff. If someone has any MC21 air screw springs they want to part with, PM me! Very Happy

A pair of screw kits is "about" £30, plus the shipping. PM me your details and I will see if I can arrange shipping for you.

Don't expect it super-fast though, as not only am I away at the moment, but I am VERY away from early in the morning tomorrow! I probably won't be online for the next 3~4 days at least, as I could be dodging elephants, snakes, and giant spiders!

Cue the Indiana Jones music! Laughing
