I asked my local bike shop if they could get me the Dunlop 209gp (that the aprilia superteens use) and he showed me some Pirelli supercorser v2 which are apparently the latest tyres for the track and they looked awesome and super soft and supple AND they come in 110/150's.
Has anyone used these latest tyres in any of the sizes?
They would have to be better than the dunlops. I know some people in Oz are running them on their 400's (in a 160), but they don't suit the bikes and tear.
I run the SC1 Supercorsas and I believe that hands down they are the best tyre for the NSR compared to the Dunlop and Bridestones. Yes I have the 110/150 combo. The problem is finding them!
Sc1 is the compound, the tyres I was looking at (supercorser v2) come in sc1 front and either sc1 or sc2 rear. As I was told the v2 is Pirelli's latest tyre so I'm guessing it's replacing the straight supercorser with the supercorser v2. I used to race super sport with supercorser sc1 front and sc2 rear and loved them too.
Dad are you running the sc1 front and rear and is it track use or road and how long are they lasting?
andyo, i'm running them on a 1990 MC21 SP. I purchased them from Motorcycle Power House. These tires were difficult to find in the 110/150 setup, so I bought two sets. Both are SC1 compounds. My buddy runs a new CBR 250 and has heard rave reviews about the new SET DUNLOP UNBEATEN-02's. I personally don't have any experience with these. They can be had for cheaper than the Supercorsa's though. Here is a link.

Oh I see, I just know that they had the new street one (the SP or whatever it is) and thought maybe the v2 was another variation.
Yep I'm running the SC1 front and rear. We get about 15-30 degrees celsius here and I'd say I get around 15 track/race days out of them before I'd want to change for fresh tyres? Depends on pace though but I have done 2 track days and 3 race meetings on a used front and rear (was a better deal than buying new) and they look the same as they did when I fitted them. My use is track only. In saying that I have a tyre friendly riding style so they might not last so long if you are more agressive. I also have a supersport bike and get a fair few days out of the same tyres.
The 500V's are running Supercorse Pros (SC1s Fr/Rr I think), and even after two track days and a good kicking by Matt@TYGA and Mark Davies, still look virtually untouched.
Key is good suspension setup, I would say. The 500's may well weigh less than an NSR (or even an NF5/NX5), but they are putting down double the power of a good F-III!
They're a really good tyre, maybe currently the best out there, but it sure is reflected in the price! _________________ Andy.

I have been running the dunlop d209gp on my track 21 for about three years now, with no probs at all, and see no reason to change,(i wouldnt go any quicker if i had the best gp quality tyres on). What is the full name of the supercorsa tyres you guys are talking about?
I have used Pirelli dragon super corsa pro's on my 400 both for road and track use.
But these were in 120/70 and160/60 sizes..
I asked a guy from FWR at the bike show and he suggested Pirelli Rosso 2's??
Rosso are a road tyre plain and simple but probably a very good option. The full name of the ones I were shown are Pirelli supercorser v2 and I'm sure they are just an evolution of the original supercorsers. I will be buying sc1 front and rear and will post pics up when I get them (2 weeks), the price I have been quoted is 240 inc vat which I don't think is too bad.

Steve is probably running Diabo Supercorsa Pro SC1 and SC2.
They are the real deal - £300+ a set, used by WSS racers to lean for ever and a bit of a pain to find in 110 or 150 sizes (though they can be got), every fast F400 racer on the face of the planet uses these tyres. I run a 3.5" front and a 120 on my NSR purely as I can't get the 110 tyre.
You can also get Diabo Supercorsa SP's, these look the same but are a bit more road orientated and cheaper, they're not available in little bike sizes.
You could also get the Supercorsa BSB these are again similar looking (and cheaper) but not quite up to it and again, no little sizes at all.
The old Dragon Supercorsa Pro is I think now deleted, it was a great tyre favoured by many F400 riders as it was the SC compounds, better in the wet, cheaper and available in a similarly bewildering range of compounds, again the ones you want are the ones stamped SC1 or SC2.
