Hello. I'm after reassurance, or otherwise.
I removed the standard MC28 overflow bottle and replaced it with the smaller HRC style one. Now the tubing from rad filler to bottle is transparent I see coolant overflowing into the bottle, well before the temp is very high.
With the radiator cap off I can clearly see the level drops with a rev of the motor, I cant see any bubbles possibly indicating a gasket problem, but sure enough the level rises a fair bit.
I'm hoping to hear 'air lock', I recently changed the coolant and leant the bike at all angles etc to bleed it.
There's a track day at Brands Hatch Wednesday, I was hoping to ride this thing at last!
Thanks for any help.

Quite possibly just displacing a small amount of fluid as it expands as you have overfilled the system.
If you filled it right up to the cap, it was technically over filled, and will displace a few ml when the fluid expands (remember the fluid will expand with any het, not just due to overheating). Assuming no major issues at play the vacuum will return the majority of the fluid back to the machine when it cools down.
You are likely observing something that has always been happening.
For peace of mind, give everything the once over to make sure it is not getting into the cylinder
Without knowing for sure,..
I suspect that as Greggo says, you are now observing something that has always been happening.
I would just add that this is supposed to happen, and is nothing to worry about.
When the radiator pressure builds up, coolant will overflow into the overflow bottle from the radiator.
As the pressure recedes, coolant will flow from the overflow bottle back into radiator.
Well, that's how I understand it anyway. _________________ [color=#808080][size=9]Yes,.. I too know how to waste Time and Money,...
Thanks chaps, I sort of knew in my mind it was overfilled, and hopefully it's just finding its own level. I remember always being told to fill rads 'just over the fins'! It's nice to get some other views on it. I may just check the head nuts for torque, IF I can persuade myself to remove the bodywork yet again!!
