The trouble with buying from dealers is you are going to pay top dollar for a bike fresh in from Japan with no history and tarted up for the minimum outlay and maximum profit. This isnt a dig at the dealers selling the bikes just the reality of the situation.
In my opinion you are much better off buying privately but you need to be patient as they do not come up very often especially SP's but they do turn up for sale, just keep searching and get in quick when you find one.
If you can be bothered, it is possible to get live access to bike auctions in Japan through various companies.
I have never done this but maybe others have?
I guess there will be all sorts of costs and hassles associated with such a process, but at least you should be able to find a bike reasonably quickly due to the huge number of bikes up for auction in Japan.
..., Just my 2¢. (sorry, 2 pence, [.. or should that be ¥2] ) _________________ [color=#808080][size=9]Yes,.. I too know how to waste Time and Money,...
Why not Brendan's bike? Don't think it's a real SP but it seems pretty well sorted with all the goodies and I believe has dry clutch motor with fully adjustable upgraded suspension. I was thinking about buying this bike myself as a track only bike, but decided to go another route as I already have a pristine 1990 MC21SP in the stable.
