There are supposedly a few differences between 01 & 02 models. Cylinders, cases and generators are apparently different.
I can provide a link to a parts list which covers both years, but unsure if this complies with forum policies. If someone can confirm it’s acceptable, I’ll post it up for you.
Regards

When you consider that NX5 ran for so long virtually unchanged, it’s strange that Honda would make major changes (if the crankcases are indeed different) on a model year change when they were preparing to walk away from Two strokes anyway.
I think it’s useful information, I'll PM it to you and email the link to admin so it can be posted up later if appropriate.
MR01 is the 1993 - 2000 NX5 variant.
MR02 is the 2001 - NXA variant.
The major parts like crankcase and cylinders are different. The crankcases have different mounting points.
You can modify NXA cylinders to suit NX5 (MR01) crankcases but not the other way round.
I think the basic layout of the gearbox internals are the same.
The cranks seem to be the same for both models.

Yes, yes I am. The way things are (not) progressing at the moment I'm thinking about going for the 'classic' look and running the bike without an airbox.
I have a couple of old 350LC K&N filters in the garage that could be put to good use... I wonder if I could adapt them to fit?
'A' kit carbon / kevlar silencers, forks, yokes, frame, swingarm, link and shock would also be nice.
Yes, you are correct, but I have no airbox at the moment.
I sold a fibreglass one recently then had an 'accident' with the other airbox I had.
An accident Innes..?
What are you looking for? Through the tank or over the rad?
I have an airbox, but haven't worked out what it came off yet. It's through the tank now but was probably originally over the rad.
We're getting off topic here, so I'll post up some pictures under a separate title when I get chance. _________________ If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
The airbox problem has been sorted. It is just a case of waiting for it to be delivered.
I would be interested in anything airbox related you have though.
