Got my baby on saturday. The guy was the only owner of the bike he looked after her like you cant believe. His wife said she will marry him but he needs to sell the bike. The got back from honeymoon 3 weeks ago and he had to sell luckily i picked up on the add quickly.
He stripped her completely down and build her back up from scratch about a year ago. He polished the frame it took him a whole weekend to get her new shine back again. Engine was just refurbed about 3 months ago shes done 1500km so she's run in. New tyres, brakes and brake linings.
And she goes like stink!! I was in highschool with the whole 2 stroke era was in their golden years and this was my poster bike i had up in my room!! And now i have one!! I just cant seem to stop smilling she is truly a stunning bike.
Looking forward to chat with all you great people alot and hopefully find some riders in SA for a breakfast run. Lets smoke them out!!
Just a question what is your fuel consumption in the NSR. I think she needs a carb clean she is giving me round about 8km/l which i find is a bit heavy. Any ideas?
Okay....just scrolled back a into the previous post and i will facepalm myself!!No need for a facepalm from anyone!! they are heavy on the juice!! Gues i wont be selling my Sachs Madass 125 then she gives me 47km/l so she would then still be my daily transport to work and back. Its just going to be very frustrating driving my 125 again after just getting used to the power of the NSR!!
For those who do not know the Madass have a look!! My other baby!!
So my friend and myself decide to take a drive yesterday. He has the 2013 Kawasaki ER650N and me on my 1989 NSR 250 R MC18. Now there has been talk amongst our friends about who's bike will be faster in a robot to robot race. Now considering i still struggle with the launch not quite used to the bike yet. But 1st he gets he jump on me with the launch but as soon asthe powerband kicks i eat him for breakfast! So if you guys see a Kawa 650 wanting to take you on make him pay by eating some 2 stroke!
So now the bragging gomes in a 1989 V-Twin 125cc for each cilinder vs a 2013 325cc for each cilinder and it cant beat me!! no disrepect to Kawa they are great bikes but i love my Hondas and Yammies if it comes jap bikes!!
Safe driving to you all and keep the 2 stroke smoking!!
