First Ride NSR250 MC21

Wed Apr 17, 2013 3:28 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi Guys
I am new to the forum. I was given (yes that is given) a 1992 NSR250 MC21 by a fellow I met at a business lunch. The bike had 15,000km on the clock and had been in his shed for a couple of years without running.
The bike also had an MC28 bodykit fitted in lovely deep bottle green with orange livery. $2K AUD later and on the road we went. Basically a carb rebuild, broken exhaust stud and a new oil pump. And the fact that mice had eaten the wiring to the computer.....
What a fantastic motorcycle!! I had such a fun time that when it broke down on the way home I was shattered. Seems to be an issue with the ignition wiring (probably the bloody mice again). Anyway when time permits I'll post a photo or two.
Cheers
Paul

Well not quite free...... About 1200 quid in the old dart terms.

Looks like the gremlins have been sorted - issues in the ignition cut out circuit, and may be back to business this weekend fingers crossed - just waiting on the replacement switchblock..
