Bring in the cleaner...

Thu Jun 16, 2005 8:14 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Got a set carbs that have been sitting around for a while and a tank too. Stinks of old crusty fuel. What's the best way to clean it all. I mean getting rid of the 'gum' that's built up.

I've used carb cleaner spray in the past, which I think did the job, but any top tips would be appreciated.

Yer... gotta be real coca~cola and none of that happy shopper urine.

And don't be buying any diet crap either - that's for girls.

Submerge and leave for a day or so. Isopropyl works better but has a habit of giving you skin cancer so avoid if possible...

concentrated coke is used to clean the coke machines.....allegedly.

It's great stuff for cleaning carbs, and cylinder heads, and pretty much anything else.

When I was at school the cherry coke was the best stuff at cleaning 1p and 2p coins. Whatever it was that was supposed to taste like cherry was even more corrosive than the normal stuff.

Takes like shite afterwards though....then again, it don't taste too good beforehand.

I'm more of a Sang Som soda man meself.
