Videos section?

I was thinking it would be a good idea to have a videos section in the forum. I know I would like to see others videos myself. I have a pretty awesome video that I took last weekend of me battling my buddy on his Aprilia RSV1000 at ButtonWillow Raceway last Saturday that I would like to share with the community.

Yeah, I've thought about that too. I think a little custom code needs implementing into the phpBB software to be able to embed videos. The thing is they take up a lot of server storage, but I guess they could be hosted on YouTube or similar?

I'll talk to Charles about it, as the forums are hosted on his server, and I'm not sure how he's fixed, but I have oodles of disk space on my server setup now.

Even if we can't embed them, and need to host them elsewhere, it would be nice to have a section where the community could post their videos of our amazing little beasts!! Razz

I don't see why we can't trial that. Do you want to see something in the public area, or the Members area?

Anyone else have any thoughts about it too?

I think a video section would be great. I' suggest You Tube links. By just having a section it will give folks a known place to go. That also eliminates any issues with different platforms or video file types. I am almost exclusive using my Android tablet for daily web browsing. Unfortunately, Adobe no longer supports flash videos on Android platform. Apple never supported it. You Tube works and has plenty of space.

OK, noted. The video format/compatibility wasn't something I had even thought of!

Again, would you prefer to see it in the public area, or as a discussion point more for Members?

Stick it in public for all to view and to give us ideas and inspiration.

Non NSR related videos can always go in the general paid members area.

OK, I've created an "NSR videos" section.

Please follow the simple rule; Only post NSR-related videos. I won't move anything unrelated like I normally do, I will just delete it!
