Hi, might at last have an NSR to look at, but would like to know how you tell the difference between the original Honda panels and the Chineese stuff? do they have date/stamp marks like most, and what do the mounts and tabs etc look like please? Any pics appreciated.
I've read the replica stuff is thinner, but if you dont know the originals etc it would be hard to tell unless side by side
I personally wouldnt be over concerned if the price is right and you know what your buying, depending on the origin of the copy kits the quality can vary greatly, from real flimsy ill fitting kits to others that are pretty uch identical to OEM.
Hi here same as Leigh says certain kits from across the water are v good and some are not.
if the particular bike in question is mc 21 se in Terra livery on **** I have seen it and it is OEM panels and painted by Dre*m M*chine and its very nice,

Hi, Honda panels should have factory part numbers on the inside as part of the actual moulding. Should be easy to see unless they have been painted over.
Watfordhorn, which ones do you reckon are the better kits?
I have seen a MC21SP "Rothmans" kit from china fitted, it was extremely ugly, non-matching colors, non-matching sticker, wrong sizes and places, and they also added a number 2 to the number plates... it was terrific ... Paint quality and laquer was not so bad, but that replica bodywork was done without paying attention to the details at all.
Also, a good friend bought another china kit, for a NC30, standard colors, the paint was not so bad, correct colors, but it fits quite bad. We have to use the Dremel too much to get them fitted into the bike. Another point, is that they don't care if the paint goes to the inner side of the bodywork, so you can see the paint sprayed all over the inner side here and there.
As watfordhorn says, the quality of the copy kits can vary greatly, the difficulty is how to know what's the good one ...
For my bike, i have restored the originals, and bought originals stickers and paint too, it's harder and it's not cheap, but there's a big diference !
Well, for my sins, I have been talking to a new supplier in China, and they will be sending me a kit (unpainted) for evaluation in the near future.
So far they have been very upfront and forthright with their assessment of previous Chinese kits, and their own, and given me a full run-down of their current materials and procedures. They are confident in their latest product, and have accepted things cannot go any further until I inspect it (fit and finish) and evaluate it for myself.
It will be interesting to see what turns up, given that they already know how vocal I have been about substandard bodywork (both GRP and plastic; both UK and China sourced) in the past. I have very high expectations and requirements, and if they don't meet my expected standards, then there will be no promotion.

I did once before, and was bitten badly! The next time, stupidly, I took a UK company on their word, and Dan (geckoracing1) got bitten on my behalf. Luckily he got his money back, but we (NSR-WORLD, courtesy of nxrsr20) did lose an OEM MC28 seat unit to them, for which they were going to use make a mould from for race seats. Another company who promised everything, and delivered crap!
I decided that was the last time I would take ANY new company on their word, or have a forum member be the guinea pig! So now if they won't send a part either FOC, or at least at cost, to be evaluated before it's recommended/advertised here, they can sing! _________________ Andy.

For my part, I have just received a replacement set of "Cup Noodle' panels from China as recommended by a forum member and, although I have not fitted the panels yet I am VERY impressed with the quality and attention to detail on, what is, a reasonably demanding graphics design.
