HRC 030 Card

Mon Sep 23, 2013 1:06 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi,

I have an PGMIV with HRC 030 card I want to run. I read on a link on this site that the 030 card MAY disable the oil pump. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

If the oil pump is disabled and I have to go premix, can I leave it in place (hoses to reed block etc included) or will I have to remove it all and blank it all off?

Thanks
Jim

Thanks mate. I do mainly road riding and quite a few long rides. Premix is fine for the track but a PITA for the road.

You'll find everything works OK, including the oil pump. I seem to remember the red oil warning light remains on, as this is one of the wires that is cut/messed with when the MC28 loom is wire spliced to accept the 030 HRC card.

Don't forget you might need to re jet to suit the new card.

No worries Racer, thanks. The PGMIV I bought came with an Ethos wire splice too so I shouldn't have to cut any wiring thankfully.

One more thing. I've heard that some people get around the lack of speedometer issue with the HRC card by running an MC21 takeoff and speedometer. Anyone had any experience with this? Best way to mount the speedo etc? Road laws in Australia require a working speedometer and odometer. I can get around any of the other mods but if the fuzz pulls me over and just sees a bicycle speedo I'll probably get ticketed.

Cheers
Jim

I must admit I never bothered with a speedo, but a cycle one should do, taking it's input from the bobbins on the front brake disc.

Put a trailtech on mine - works lovely and pretty easy to fit and setup.

I've thought about doing that Bully. You wouldn't happen to have a photo of how you mounted it?

By the way nice bike. The 1994 blue and white MC28 SE are my favourite factory colours.
