MC21 tank on an MC28

Tue Nov 05, 2013 3:25 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hey guys i'm new to the NSR world. I live in Tokyo and just got myself an NSR250 SE MC28 to jump start some racing. Previously had a VFR400R, but I'm excited to try out this new beast.

Anyway I just ordered all my fairings and rear sets from Tyga, and while waiting for that to come checking out gas tanks online. My bike is in pretty good condition so I wanted to keep all the street stuff clean and pretty. The MC28 tanks out here are either really rusty or really expensive. I found one that might be of interest but wanted to check just in case if anyone knew about putting an MC21 tank on an MC28. I've found some blogs in japanese about people doing the reverse (mc28 tank on an mc21).

Hopefully someone here has tried it and succeeded Very Happy

Hi "bboybz", and welcome to NSR-WORLD.

The MC21 and MC28 tanks are pretty much interchangeable, but they differ where the lugs for the seat panels attach are. It will be obvious when you fit it. The [main] front and rear mounting points are effectively the same though.

The standard seats are a different shape/cut but use the same mounting points too.
