PE Portfolio [1998 Bakker NSR500V Repsol]

Sun Nov 10, 2013 2:12 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

We were asked to undertake a full build of a 1998 NSR500V engine a few months back. Finding parts has proved a little tricky but just about there now.

JHA barrels, stock crank and crank cases. We've had power valve parts re cast as well as re-machining many new parts we required.

Two frames and swinging arms we've had made to house the two new engine builds. We hope to have both these running by early next year.

We think they're super. The builds are quite hard as most parts we are either making ourselves, or having made. Almost nothing is available off the shelf now.

"Yeah, it was a wet Tuesday afternoon, so we locked ourselves in the shed and made a couple of NSR500 frames." Smile

NSR 500 frames

Tue Nov 26, 2013 1:32 pm » Post: #9 » Download Post

Hi Stephen
Glad to see the usual standard of RC45 workmanship on this project.
One hell of a lot of work and effort to reproduce these items, no corner cutting down Plymouth way
and I really look forward to seeing these @ the end of the build,
The build is a credit to you,
PS I wished you had asked I have a couple of those frames in the loft !!!
Goodluck

HRC Kehin SPJ carbs being modified for use on the 500V. The 500V's standards SPJ carbs don't use power jets.

Ere, Hack Mechanic, you do know it's Sunday, and that's another GP500 you're hacking about with?! Laughing

I had to twist the bracket like that to make the fairing fit. Do you think there is something wrong somewhere?
