Question on exhaust manifolds

Tue Jan 14, 2014 9:19 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all,
6 months ago I bought another mc16, I was offered a set of race exhausts which I duly purchased for the princely sum of £100.
Trouble I have is that they didn't come with the manifolds and springs.
I feel a right chump because I haven't a clue what make they are, no stamp, logo, or anything. Embarassed
Is there anybody out there who could lead me in the right direction to be able to source some or have some made?
I really should have said no but they are in reasonably good knick and should look good if I ever get them fitted.
Cheers
Daz

Hope the pictures are ok.
I hope I haven't been stitched up, and they aren't for an mc16.
Cheers

I don't recognise the pipes but they are for a '16 or an '18.

What size is the exhaust stub?

Hi,
I would say the outside diameter is 48mm, the inside diameter is 42mm, it has an 11mm recess before the pipe reduces to approx 35mm diameter.

Exhaust manifold question

Sun Jan 26, 2014 4:04 pm » Post: #8 » Download Post

Can anybody help?
If not i will probably stick them on the auction site to get rid of them and just continue to run standard pipes. Crying or Very sad
On a more positive note, the first step towards a new workshop is due to start in march so should have a nice environment to work on the bikes from late spring.
To raise the front end of the bike while changing fork seals, what do you guys do?
I have thought about a front head stock stand or just simply roping to a beam of the garage roof.

I doubt you will find anything off the shelf to suit. But any boiler maker would be about to knock out a flange to suit. A simple 2 bolt flange with a collar welded to it machined to suit the size of the pipe.

Or anyone with a lathe to turn something up perhaps?

Thanks for thoughts, I will try a local engineer first and see if he can fabricate some to match the pipes. I suppose I was being very hopeful to think I could just buy off the shelf.
Should be worth it though.
