Hi I have an Nsr mc18 that I am currently restoring and I noticed that there is a code and a uk phone no stamped on the tank bottom.
What would this be In relation to??
Hopefully it may lead to obtaining the bikes history and paperwork.

Any ideas??

just ask if they used to own it and that there phone no is on your tank !
google search the phone no also

Hello, it sounds like an anti-theft measure as I did a similar thing years ago before datatag and smartwater were even thought of.

You might get some useful info about the bike or it might be best to leave well alone if you get my drift.

Honesty and integrity....call the number and if its a stolen deal with it. If your bike was stolen wouldn't you want someone to call you?

Ericandchi, you are quite right we would all like to be informed in that event and nsrjb I am sure hasn't a problem, it'll be a previous owner being uber security conscious.

My bike is covered with security I.D., I don't know what your situation in Texas is but here bike theft is rife.

Bikes and more importantly secondhand parts is big business in the U.K.

I'd be surprised if It was stolen as I have keys etc.

I bought it as a reck that had been left in a barn for years needed loads of work it was In a state.

I'll let ye know what happens.

I can't do it until the weekend as the bike is stored at my parents.

The phone no. was for retainagroup security.

They would not give me any details over the phone unless I had police information request.

I am going to contact the police and see if I can get some help.
