So I bought this MC21 (which has been thoroughly trashed, but all the important bits are in good shape). I was inspecting the wiring harness and found this non-factory part which intercepts the GPS and brake switch (don't worry about the connectors, the wire was cut and joined again for some reason). Anyway, the bike runs with and without it so I'm wondering what it actually does? Does it do the splice mod? Orange/Blue wire coming from the black plug connecting to the PGM is also cut, but not soldered to a 12V supply, so not sure why that was done either. Any thoughts?
Never mind, was reading some tuning articles and found out what it was, and I was close. It's indeed the wiresplice mod in a box. Worth keeping or better off doing it the old fashioned way?
Thanks Andy. I was gonna use the connectors off it anyway to rig up the GPS on the MC21 motor that is in my MC18 (they cut all the wires off it but I want to make a custom dash with an Arduino board). Just gotta wrestle the carb boots on now; Probably the most difficult ones I've come across yet!
