hrc jet kit strange things

Wed May 13, 2015 7:52 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi to all two strokers. Well its time to jetting my lovely nsr mc21 after completly rebuild. My bike has new crank, cylinder pistons hrc reeds, jha rs force exsaust, hrc ignition coils, hrc front cylinder head, 0,4mm base cylinder gasket to increase compression, 2 degrees woodruf key and wire splice. Flowed and epoxed crankcases matched and flowed cylinders. I'm going to run my bike with open carbs and premix. So I started the jetting with hrc jet kit and hrc base settings... 180 mains B needle clip to the middle 40 slow jet Blanked power jets. The bike couldn't even start. It was very very very rich and I decided to ask for help from an engineer that knows from 2strokes. He jetted my bike... 145 mains B needles to second position 38 slow jets Blanked power jets. I ride the bike and it pulls very strong until 13000 rpm. I took off the plug and it had a very nice tan and he told me that maybe I need an 150 main that we didn't have at this time fo safe and bring the needles to midle position.

My questin is ..... is that possible?? 145-150 main jets with the power jet blanked? ave you ever guys seen this again, because any nsr that I have seen with blanked power jets works with 180-185-190. Its a very big difference. Any advice or opinion it will be very helpful!!!

Thanks in advance

takis.

Hello Takis, and welcome to NSR-WORLD.

As Jimmy13 points out, we do not support specific jetting questions outside of the members area, for reasons I've posted a number of times.

The only comment I can offer here is that it's extremely rare for MJ's to drop into the 170s (or lower) with blank PWJ's, even on AVGAS. Be VERY careful on WOT, as it goes against all data I have personally seen over the last 20 years.
