MC18 track bike help

Mon Jul 20, 2015 5:29 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have recently bought a MC18 track bike and currently giving it a thorough check over before hopefully giving it a run at Snetterton next week.

After removing the carbs I see there is a pipe in the crankcase above the reed blocks. This has been left open and can someone advise if this is a breather or should it be blanked off.

It is a breather, it should have a bit of rubber breather hose attached.

Thanks for the info. I will attach a breather hose to it.

Cheers

If you check the Online Parts Manual - MC18 section | E9 you will see the breather as part #3.

The tube runs under the carbs, and down the back of the motor, between the motor and swingarm, and then you will see a wire holder for it down below [and just in front of] one of the footrest brackets. I can't remember on the MC18 if it should exit on the left or right side though.
