Quick Introduction

Thu Sep 10, 2015 8:25 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi.
I'm Neil from sunny Cornwall and I'm addicted to bikes Laughing
I've just got a MC16 in need of some tlc, she is all there but requires a front mudguard/fender, will any of the other models fit?

I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions so be prepared Laughing

Hi Neil, and welcome to NSR-WORLD!

As far as I'm aware, the MC16 is unique... certainly as far as the NSRs go, as it has smaller forks (which are closer together) than all the other models. Your best bet will probably be to check the auction sites, or believe it or not, fit a later [complete] front-end! It's a very easy swap (with only minor inconveniences), and opens up all sorts of possibilities, ranging from HRC RS250 NF5 forks with preload/compression/rebound dampening, to basic "R" model forks, and even VFR400 NC30, with 296mm discs, if you feel so inclined!

You won't have any trouble at all finding a fender to fit the 41mm forks! Stock, GRP, or carbon/kevlar. Smile

Thanks Andy

Sorry for the delay, very busy with work atm.
Now looking to start sorting the mc16 now and thinking about the back end of the bike, any idea whats needed to convert to a 17" rear wheel?

Many thanks
Neil

If it were me, I would look at a 1988 MC18 R2J rear-end conversion, with an MC21 wheel.
