Gazpar,

I am assuming that is the number that is on top of the cylinder head (as in the casting)?

The actual honda part numbers are slightly different.

For RKII, the part numbers are 12210-KV3-000 (or 12210-KV3-010 for the front head and 12215-KV3-000 (or 12215-KV3-010) for the rear head.

Fo you have a RKI or an RKII (1988 vs 1989)?

Someone else may know the correlation between whats in the casting on the head VS the actual part number and be able to give you further details.

Hi, I have just sourced an 89 year r5k engine and have the same heads with the casting number KV3 GR E1 on it.

These heads are slightly taller than the 88 year r2j/r4j heads.

If the replacement heads are the same height with the casting numbers ending E2, then I am guessing they are for a r6k late 89 year engine.

I doubt there are any differences.

Can MC16 heads be fitted to an MC18 and vice-versa? I'm looking for new heads for my MC16 and there seem to be various different castings around.

MC18 heads can be used on the MC16, but they are slightly higher compression, so check the squish.

Also, be aware that the rear coolant hose routing differs slightly, and the MC18 head has no provision for the additional hose the MC16 head uses.
