To buy or not? Winners One SP

Sun Apr 24, 2011 12:47 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Been in the huge industrial estate in Sharjah, UAE all day and came across a Winners One MC21SP. Bodywork is tatty, had a right side crash at some point, dent in the tank and needs a good clean but very low mileage at 9987 km's.

The guy wants 7000 dirhams for it which is about 1200 quid. I need to convince my wife so I won't be buying it to keep, I'll strip it down selling the magteks, forks, rear shock, etc.

Is 1200 worth it? And would anyone be interested in parts? Will upload images when I get home, on mobile right now.

Will hand the cash over to the guy tomorrow if you guys think it's worth it.

Chucky, there is a 21SE motor on Yahoo right now with 21,000kms with a buy it now price of 70,000 yen (520 GBP). With this being an SP motor and less than 10,000kms I would guess 650-700 quid would about the right price (could be wrong though?).

There's a set of SP forks on Yahoo too going for 32,000 yen (230 GBP).

I need the servo motor so if you want the engine it will be minus that.

If the prices don't sound right please let me know. Tomorrow I'll prepare a thread in the classified section.

Is it just me or does it seem almost sacrilegious to dismantle this rare bike and sell its parts?

EDIT: There is no documentation for this bike whatsoever so I'm not left with much option considering I will never be able to register here and get it road legal...according to the guy who has it now in his warehouse it was in the back of a container that turned up with 30-40 other bikes 4 months ago.

If it were here (the UK) it's worth twice that at least.

Found out that I can quote the frame number to Honda UAE to get the paperwork sorted and then just the normal registration process after that.

Picking it up 1 1/2 hours, will create a project thread full of images.
