Just a short note to say Hi and introduce myself as I'm looking to make a return to 2 stroke land and having been unfortunate enough to purchase some right old impulse purchse nails once or twice over the years - I thought this would be a good place to fact gather before I dispose of any hard earned, so please excuse the questions!
Based in Hampshire, been riding for 17 years, got a 98 R1 and a 93 'Blade and now looking to add a 250 to the mix to replace the RGV I had a few years ago but recon the NSR's have got something more about them than the RGV, like single sided swingers etc.
Is there away of searching for old threads topics to save asking the same old questions - like what 2 stoke oil is the best to use!
I'll leave the others to argue about the best model... all I'll say is whichever you chose, it'll kick the *ss of your old RGV!
There are a LOT of posts about the various models to look back through. Maybe someone will post links to them if you're lucky. _________________ Andy.

To be fair the search function is fairly rubbish, Andy thinks I'm good at using it, he's wrong - I've been reading this forum for a long time, got a good memory for specific words in posts and I've not got a real job.
Personally I don't really mind repeated threads and never answer "use the search", can't speak for anyone else. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I do exactly the same as you Fontyyy, but have been doing it even longer! Almost 11 years of NSR-WORLD, and 4 years of nsr250.com, so I can't be bothered to look it up on others' behalf any more!
No offence, Andy. _________________ Andy.

I have a terrible memory, but I quite enjoy reading old threads... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Thanks for the welcomes chaps. any particular reason why the half an' arm ones aren't getting alot of love?
My mission is to get something clean and well looked after with a good history from an enthusiast, pref MC18II / MC21 not particulary for investment purposes, more for the power delivery that you only get off a sorted 2 stroke V twin on the pipe(s) for use on only the sunniest of Sundays and to be otherise generally polished and kept in the conservatory.
The R1 and the Blade can stay in the shed!

Amen to that. _________________ 1996 MC28SE (Honda Flash), 24,000KM - Drilled airbox, HARC Pro pipes, TYGA Hi-flo reeds, special manifolds, Ohlins rear shock & steering damper - SOLD
Rare as Hen's teeth is the way I would describe getting anything under £3k that is any good. Folk seem to want to hang on to them....not suprising really.
I'm in th middle of selling my RGV (a rare good one) and will be buying a 2nd bike to keep my 'Noodle' company. I have always hankered after a TZR 3KV (since I started looking for strokers some months ago) but if I could find and really good MC21 SE at around £3k then I would buy like a shot.
My ONLY worry is that the RGV spares are (at the moment) plentiful and reasonably affordable, not quite the same thing with the NSR. With the help of this forum though I am led to believe that anything can be sourced.
Good luck with your hunt, get a good one and you will not be dissapointed.
Good luck! These bikes are all grey imports (the very definition means it's background is grey, i.e. unknown), ones that have been here for years will have been in the hands of several owners who have maintained them themselves at a time when their value was very low so they are unlikely to have spent money keeping a history. Especially as very few dealers would have touched them and even less would have done an acceptable job.
The ones that have just arrived will (obviously) have nothing and more of them than you'd hope started off their recent life as a box of bits.
I have 2 G plate mc21's, one has had 4 previous owners, the other 7 owners. Neither came with anything other than a couple of MOTs. The 3rd has never been on the road in the UK, if I registered it then that would be the start of it's history. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
