plz help,new user,nsr250 mc16 cdi

Hi guys,I'm from south africa and new to this site, plz help!!!!I had a mc16 after I left school, had a while, but sold to buy car,had a lot of bikes since then(bigger than250)but always wanted another nsr, nothing sounds like it,its legends,so I bought one from a guy(2nd owner ever)38000km on clock, original, but fearings had marks etc on,ill repaint myself.I have never seen a nsr like this, paint still on powervalves as marked in factory for warranty purpose, motor never opened.wow.so I started it(stood for a year) and ran on one cylinder, thought okay, dirty carb or sparkplug,so at the end it was top cylinder cdi that went coz rev counter also didn't work(checked on **** site and swopped cdis,so now I am in need of a mc16 cdi,can someone help or give advice,I stay in south africa and cdis are rare and expensive or can someone repair this....AND that is my nsr life story. Much appreciated.

From Amanzimtoti, got myself a mc18 not long ago, seems to B a couple on sale around the country the last while, maybe 7 or so, in general I don't see a lot of 2 strokes on the roads, couple of 125's still gets me exited, cheers.

Aldo Scribante is one of my favourite tracks .
Make sure that your battery is at least 12 volts or else it will cause electrical problems .

Scribante is a nice track, often go there to watch legal drags.so I stripped down carbs(filthy as hell)vleaned them properly, polished clutch bucket with autosol,a general electrician is attempting to resolder the joints in the cdi.thus giving me tine to clean the bike.want to know from you guys what is the mc16 weakspots to watch out for,it has 38000 km on the clock and has never been opened, some say they have bad cranks, anything else?yes indeed,2strokes are a rare find in SA,some 125s running around, but mostly the import crap that's flooding the market,a nice old 2stroke is something 2have these days.please inform me on weakspots on these 2strokes,much appreciated

There is one for sale on gumtree . As long as you run your bike on good oils , check everything when it needs inspection , then it should give you good service .
