installing rear sets

Wed Sep 29, 2004 10:28 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi i bought some racing rear sets from the bike shop for my mc21. i went to put them on and realised that there is no hole in the brake leaver to mount the bracket for the tail light. does anyone know an easy way to fabricate one or another way to hook it up without drilling a hole through the lever.

Also the at the rear of the lever where it is mounted to the cylinder the small pin wont fit through the hole. would it be best to just drill out the a little or is there a smaller sized pin that i just havnt got... The rearsets look quite similar to the tyga ones if that helps at all... thanks

I dont normaly bother to fit a rear brake light as i hardly ever use it.

If you really want to fit one and there isnt a place to attach the switch buy a pressure switch. It replaces the banjo bolt that goes into the master cylinder. When the brake lever is depressed the fluid pressure in the brake line operates the switch and the brake light comes on.

I think Goodridge sell then as do brembo. I have one fitted to the front brake on the RC as there is no where for a normal switch.

Sounds like you've a set of racing plates. As above, use a banjo switch instead.

Make sure that you buy one that does NOT have a allen key fitting for the banjo bolt.........They are absolute rubbish.
Buy one that has the hexagon body........They are the best.
