Right side fairing lowers - R vs. SE/SP

Tue Apr 15, 2014 7:02 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Good Afternoon All;

It appears there is a slight difference between the right side fairing lower for the wet-clutch R models versus the dry-clutch SE/SP models. There is additional material removed from the rearmost 'gill' on the lower for the SE/SP models

See circled area in the SE photo, as compared to the same area on a R.

Is there a valid reason for this change between the models, will a lower for a 'R' fit on a SE/SP without interference?

Thank you

Pure guess, but having an SP I suspect it's for better airflow to cool the dry clutch. The outer case of the clutch is just a mesh grill, since of course it's not running in an oil bath...
