Help please.
With regards to my MC21 dry clutch model..........
I know Honda recommend 10/30 grade for the gearbox oil but how much do you put in after having completely drained it and is there a method of checking the level.
My filler cap/plug doesn`t have a dipstick on it (are all NSR`s like this ? )
I`ve had a good hack through associated threads without sucess.
Thanks in advance, Paul.
I always use Silkolene light gear oil, 0.8Litre for a rebuild, and 0.7Litre for a drain & change, i just bung it in and never check it between changes, about every 3-4 trackdays. Dont ride on the road no more. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
Thanks Les...........So it`s 0.8 when completely empty and 0.7 when it`s just an oil change.
Still need to know about the dipstick question.
Thanks in advance.........Paul.
With the bike upright the gear box oil should just touch what looks like the bottom of the broken dip stick. As Les says, they take between 0.7 and 0.8 of a liter. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
That's interesting as I use Silkolene 10/30 but have been thinking about a change as the gear change is a bit , well it could go in cleaner as it tends to not crunch exactly but needs to be better, I have checked all the usual reasons why that could be and maybe a heavier grade of oil might be the answer.
I shall give it a go, worth a try as it isn't too expensive.
