Mc16 mc18 engine SP??

Wed May 04, 2016 7:16 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all
This is my first post on here so I hope it's in the correct place.
My questions are

Did the Mc16 ever have a dry cluch?

If not have people fitted a dry cluch to a Mc16 engine

Did all Mc16 bikes have Mc16E at the start of the engine number

Did any mc18 have Mc16 at the start of the engine number

Thanks
Steve

Hello Steve, and welcome to NSR-WORLD. Smile

Yes, but only as part of the HRC Formula 3 kit. A production MC16 "SP" was never made/sold.

Yes. It's not a direct fit, but the MC18 R6K and MC21/28 SE/SP transmissions/clutches can all be made to fit relatively easily. Forum members have done it, and I think there are some posts in the "Members Builds" area, but you will need to do some searching.

One member, 2smoke [who unfortunately sold up and moved on to bore strokes a few years ago] raced and MC16 that he'd converted to a dry clutch setup. Try searching for his user name.

All NSRs (except some HRC and/or replacement engines) will be stamped MC16E. That's the engine type designation.

All of them... see above.

Thanks that's really helpful.
I'm very new tone NSR's and was a bit concerned when the engine number on my nsr 250 mc18sp (terra) started with MC16-E.
