does anybody know if the forks from honda cbr400rr nc29 would go onto a mc21r without upsetting the handling. i am told that they are the same size to fit in the yokes but i am concerened that if they are differnt lengths this will mess up the bikes handeling.
not worried about wheels brakes discs etc at the moment that can all come later.
cos the ones i have on my 29 are fully spangled revalved re springed special fellas that those lovely maxton chaps have had their greasy little fingers on.
basically i have a fully maxtoned 29 which i am thinking of putting the standard suspension back on to sell it, then selling the shock n forks on e bay or on 400gb, i already have a sp shock for my 21 but sp forks are like sp wheels (2 chances..none and FA..) so i thought hhhmmmmmm _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

First thoughts are that they'll be too stiff - the NSR is much lighter. If the length and diameter are the same, as well as the distance between them you may as well try it... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

hmmmm the cbr forks are the same diameter but 1 inch longer so i dont think it will work i dont want to mess the whole thing up so dont think i am gonna bother.

Like Dave though, I think you may find them too stiff for the NSR. Even though the CBR400 is notoriously soft for Westerners and they've been suitably uprated, they will have been tuned to suit a 150-160Kg bike instead of a 135Kg one. Unless you are a super-duper-bantam-feather-flyweight, I think the front end could possibly feel like a block of wood!!
You could try dropping the weight of the oil however, say from 15Wt to 10Wt; that may improve the feel, but if the springs are harder than stock, then you are flogging a dead horse! The only way will be to get the CBR forks retuned again! :(
