My winter project is making this NSR-D 350 beast. Still got loads to do of course but the engine's in there properly now, which was the major hurdle. I've basically got the wiring to finish off (RD loom) some pipes to make, carbs to fit'n'fettle, lights (possibly) and ponder the fairing/sundries/paraphernalia etc.... oh and paint it...
I'm not claiming it'll be in anyway better than a stock '21, and I've forgotten the reason I started it, but it should be an 'interesting' ride all the same. And prehaps even a bit of inspiration for your 500 project Fenton?
Well I think he's realised that all the optimism in the world still isn't helping him much at the moment... roll on some 3XV dyno time eh Bulletproof?!
What are you going to try swapping? Pipes, carbs, wiring harnesses, IGN boxes... front fenders?! Anything to try and get the lemon to make some power eh?! _________________ Andy.

The question is Andy what colour front fender works with power jets and does that effect the type of cylinder head nut you have to use? _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
I don't think it's the cylinder head nut that's so important, I think it's more the coolant hose that you use. Use a Y-2 and you're never going to make the power!! _________________ Andy.

I thought it was the 0Y-2 hose but only used if you had an R rear wheel spindle not the SP one. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
The only reason it has an RGV tank is NSR ones tend to be a bit too pricey. Budget being rather limited.... And I quite like the RS seat unit, it just needs a bit of work to match the tank. Besides....I wouldn't want it looking like an NSR would I
GP style pipes are planned...
Front fender is going to be Fontyyy's old one (cue a couple of MC28 gags)
Don't worry Yats...it would be easy to blame the idiot onboard if it's slow at the track
(listen...this isn't a 3XV so quit ranting about coolant hoses and nuts if I told you where the coolant pipe came for this engine...then you'd laugh )

I think this thread is about Martin's magnificent project (which will of course be miles better than the donor '21 cos it's got a better motor in it) so I'll be like Shilpa Shetty to your Jade Goody and maintain a dignified silence in the face of your taunts
We OK for the 3rd then Stephen? You got those Heavy Duty straps in yet? No? OK, I'll just bring a pair of old boot laces then. That should hold here steady
Sorry Martin, I did try to recover the tread with some relevant questions, but we are dying to pick on Bulletproof's 3XV again! The RGV boys take it so badly, and Warwick's such a great sport! _________________ Andy.
