Here is a pic of my MC21 wiring loom, just left of the carbs
there is a 3 pin plug.. I am trying to figure out what is suppossd to be
plugged in there.
If anyone with an MC21 could please check their loom and let me know
what's there, would be great
ahh that makes sense.
the switch on my side stand must have been removed.
Im still trying to figure out why my PV servo is not working properly, and this was the only thing missing from my wiring loom so thought it might have something to do with it.. but now i can eliminate that!
I bought the bike in pieces, and have done a full restore/rebiuld.
I have done a full top end rebiuld on engine.. pistons, rings, RC valves and shafts, so she's clean as. have not run engine yet. as when i got to the point of setting RC valves this happened..
Turn ign on, switch to run.. RC valve servo turns to high and bounces (like a tacho hitting a limiter!) Unplug TPS and try again.. same thing!
I have since tested the TPS (its fine) bought another working PGMIII
it did exactly the same thing!! (so mine was fine to start with)
Im now thinking my servo might be buggered.. if it was broken would it still
move? or just be dead??
the other thing is if i unplug the green earth wire from the servo while its bouncing around the high mark, it turns back to low and stops
Im starting to get quite frustrated with this issue as it's the only thing holding me back from finishing my bike and im running out of ideas as to whats wrong!
Unscrew the pulley off the servo and plug it in again without it fitted. See what happens. Might keep revolving or it might spin round and then set itself.
I tried and it did the same thing
then i turned it past the high mark and tried.. it did a full rotation back to high and bounced yet again!
Ive had the servo apart now and by the looks there is the servo motor and then another small sensor conected by a series of small cogs that turns with the motor (im quessing its like another position sensor that tells the servo motor what to do?) i think it is this sensor that may be broken as the servo motor works, the tps works, and the PGM works.. all tested.
I will try to find a working servo and try again..
Anyone with a working RC Servo please contact me, i have an add in the clasifieds.
Hy,
I havent had one apart but from your description, it sound like a little feedback potentiometer if it driven by the servo out put, it could be this potentiometer or the amplifier in the servo. Can you send some pics of the thing in bits? Is there an amp in the servo case or do the cables from the motor and potentiometer just feed the PGM?
