Fork adjustment MC28

Fri Sep 03, 2004 2:26 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

The tuning page says that 14mm of the fork should be showing for an MC21, but there's no information for the MC28. My MC28 has got rings which locate in a groove in the forks. This groove/ring is positioned between the triple clamps, and slides inside the clip-on mounts from underneath locking in place. This means that with the mounts butted up on the underside of the top tripleclamp, the forks protrude 3mm above the top of the triple clamp, and are fixed. They cannot slide up any further.

3mm seems a bit tall. Am I assembling this wrong? Are the MC28 not supposed to be adjusted? Is this 3mm the requisite setting?

I'm kind of in a bind, as I can't find this info anywhere.

The MC21 has exactly the same setup on the fork legs. The "rings" are there to facilitate setting of the stock ride-height at the factory.

No MC28 information is included in the setup in out Tuning pages as it was never included in the HRC setup manual.

The geometry for the '21 and '28 is identical however, so the MC21 setting should be fine for the '28.

10mm is a good starting point for the MC21 and MC28 - 14mm is very agressive and will scrub the front tyre out very quickly.

Perfect! I'll go for that then.
