Carb size?

Sun Jul 08, 2007 3:24 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi, could any one tell me what the maximum size is you can increase the bore to on carbs from a 21? I know they have to be D shaped but wondering what increase can be expected from any such mod?
The reason behind this is i wish to retain the oil pump for ease of use but get as much fuel as possible in to my 300 motor.

Also i have the shorty style of plug [NGK 95] fitted to my 300 kit but what is it partner in the normal style i.e. BR9ECM or BR10ECM?

You can't bore the TA32 very far before you break through the casing. I seem to recall it's only about 33mm... ask Steve what his F3 goes like with the 32mm carbs! Wink

95 plugs are actually 9.5's. Stick with the BR9ECM's unless you are racing and find you can actually benefit from them. I run a NGK R5300A-10 in the lower cylinder on my 250, but only because it's virtually impossible to find a 9 these days.

I don't think the 10 really helps with my cold starts either!
