RS250 Marchesini Mag wheel question?

Sat Nov 10, 2007 1:25 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hey guys, might have just made a big booboo:( I just picked up a Marchesini magnesium well for a rs250 race bike that i am going to put on a street 250. I just realized the chain is on the other side of the bike (its the double sided swingarm race bike).

Are the rims directional? Can I flip the rim?

If not....does anyone need a new mag wheel for an rs250??....lol

Thanks

I raced an MC28 on a "wrong" RS250 wheel. Not a problem for me. Even the bods from Honda said it would be ok.

Thanks Matt! The rim is a 10 spoke mag....does not seem to be "directional" so switching the rim around should be no problem.

One thing I did not realize with the wheel is there in NO cush drive! I did not realize the later model (double sided swing arm version) rs250 do not use cush drives. The sprocket is bolted directly to the rim. This should make my street application an interesting ride!

The MC28 doesn't have cush drive, but I guess that some could say that with a paltry 40 ponies as standard it doesn't need it! Wink
