Worked on my old R6 at those sizes, cant be sure with NSR swingarm clearences or sproket offsets though,

Why do it? it will just slow flickabiliaty down, biggest you want it is 165 slick 160 dot. if its for street cred try a 170 at most. Just means your chicken strips will be even bigger when you turn up at chip shop Wink

Don't think it would fit as my 165 slick only has about 5mm each side. It would sure make the handling 'interesting'!

My bike has a 150/60 on MC21 Magtek. It's almost impossible to get rid of the chicken strips street riding. Maybe on the track it'd be better. I've even scuffed my right fairing on the street before(dip in bend), thats how I'm pushing it.

Think about this though. I have an FZR 400, they run a 140/60? in the rear. When I got it it had a 160/60 on it. Needless to say the handling was "wierd". The next tire I bought was a 150/70, that kept the proper roundness on the kinda narrow rim. After that you could use the whole tire. The bike also tipped in way smoother..... Well, until it got it's 600 power plant Wink

I wouldn't go above the 150/60 to be honest... Or at least go with a taller sidewall if you do. I've delt with it before and it wouldn't be worth ruining the handling of the NSR just to have the wide tire look.

I've only ever ridden ONE NSR with over-sized tyres that handled well, and that was on HRC rims with HRC suspension (StephenRC45's MC21-F3). It runs a 3.5" front and a 5" rear and when I first rode it it was on hand-cut Michelin Pilot slicks in, I think, 120 and 165.

Of the others I have ridden with over-sized tyres they have ranged from unstable to downright shocking!

It's very very difficult to equal, let alone beat, the handling of Honda's choice of 110/70x17 and 150/60x17 on the MC21 and MC28.

I don't think I'd run a 180 on less than a 5.5" rim otherwise it'll get kinda funny on ya.

Stick with Stock sizes on a stock bike.
What really seems to screw up the handling on an NSR is putting a 120 section on the front.
I ridden a few with 120's on the front and they just feel nasty.

The best handling NSR ive ridden is Toms 28sp( I havnt ridden Stephens F3 with the F3 suspension fitted ).
I was shocked but not suprized to find that Tom's 28 has a 140 section on the rear Rolling Eyes Laughing .It just felt really good on the road.

Why would a 120 mess around with the front?

I have had an nsr's with all wheel sizes and felt nothing bad or worse between them.

What size 120 fron did you use, 60-65-70 profile?

Recentley have been using 125 wide fronts on another machine and felt amazing the side grip was very great with loads of cofidence, didnt slow anything down. Tried 115's which was also good but you all ways felt you were about to roll off the edge and tuck it in, of which i did once.

You'd run off the side of a 140 on the track for sure.

Most people say my '28 handles very well (inculding Wayne) and that's got std 150 and 110 tyres on std 4.5" and 3" Magteks.

It was your old Dodge Viper paint schemed 21 with those cut slicks Laughing

It was the way it turned in,way too quick and a lack of feeling until it was on the edge of the tyre.
Also when I started to exit a corner and pick the bike up it would lift it self up.

Hey Wayne

Yep the old dobbin.

Well I put them tires on back in 2000!! sadley then I had no real funds for racing so could not afford bigger wheels, and the slicks only cost me a 100 a set cause they were lst years model! so i expect now they are well past there old sell buy date. Even when new unless heated right up they gave same feel as you described, rekon more of a michelin thing then anything else. If you dont like how fast they turn in dont ever use KR364's love them to death, to bloody pricey though. Never had the bike pick its elf up out of corners mainley flick its self into the kitty litter Embarassed
