RS250 fork conversion

Tue Jan 29, 2008 7:33 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi
When doing a conversion with the above fork's onto a 21 is there any way to retain the 21's wheel??.
Or are the disc's radically different etc?
Cheers

You can fiddle the spacers around. I think mine has a '21 spacer in one side and an R2J spacer the other. (A little hard to remember now.)

The RS disc offset and bolt pattern are the same as the NSR, but the RS is a larger diameter of course, so you just bolt the RS discs up to the NSR wheels.

You will need a custom stem for the RS triple clamp, and a sleeve for the top clamp, as the NSR uses a slimmer, taller stem.

I have two RS front-ends. A 92 USD on my MC21 with Magteks, and a 91 RWU on my MC16 with Enkies. New stems were needed for both. Both front-ends can use the MC18/MC21 calipers, but they need modifying slightly. I have RS250 on both mine. The 95 has to use the RS calipers, or something with similar bolt pattern as it's different to the NSR. I think it's a Brembo fitting.

yes, the 40mm Brembo calipers (common on Ducati 916) is a direct bolt on.
