Are the pick up coils and stator the same in the mc16, 18 and 21? I need set for my 21 and have located some for what says 16-18... what do you guys think?

If memory right mc18 stator is different size ,But if u use 18 flywheel should fit may be wrong

I fthat is correct th emounting points for the pick up coils wouldn't line up...right?

They all do the same job... just pulse a signal as the flywheel turns. The mounts are the same on all the motors I believe, but the spacing (from the crank centre) is obviously different, as is the length of harness coming out of each set depending on model. You may find they are different colour wires on different models too, but nothing that's going to tax a rocket scientist!

There's stacks on Yahoo! Japan. Buy a couple of sets to hedge your bets.

Pick up lenth is different. MC18 Mk1 won't fit but MC18 MK2 will as long as you alter the connectors.

You could of course use the early pick up on a MC21/28 motor as long as you used the right fly wheel. If you didn't then the pick up would smack the trigger on the flywheel.
