I just hope he isn't getting any of the money. Have you guys heard how he screwed over a bunch of people at his riding school? (see links below, I don't have personal experience but it sounds pretty ugly)

No I haven't, and second hand hearsay means nothing to me... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Trust me I wouldn't post things like that about a champion if they weren't true. Many people in the world continue to love and adore the famous even after they've done some seriously bad things. My affection is checked at the door - either someone is a good person or they aren't. Sadly from all reports it sounds like he is headed down the wrong road and has been for a couple years at least. While Freddie has some serious issues going on, it doesn't appear that he's tried to make anything right. If he does in the future I'll be the first to praise him for doing the right thing. I hope he gets help for his problems and finds religion, but it's got to be very tempting for a famous person to just take the money and run once their career is over and they don't have any easy way to fix their reputation.
Hmm, so he's having a spot of bother. I'm not gonna jump on the guy from the basis of those two articles, sorry. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

I think that it sucks that Freddie has found him self with personal problems that has been dragged out into the public.
What ever those personal issues are, they are exactly that. All the articles that I have read have all been based on rumor and/or speculation around what his problems are.
The fact that his riding school was affected by his personal issues sucks, and it sucks more that others were affected (as in no paychecks, etc..).
I am sure Freddie is selling his prized championship winning pieces of history to make good on his failings. Unfortunately, I am sure the proceeds will end up going to his divorce and not to his ex-employees.
I hope that who ever buys these will treat them for what they are, a part of motorcycle racing history. It would be nice to see these in the Barber museum rather then some private collection where they probably wont be seen by the public.
I am sure its hard for Freddie to have to sell such an important part of his past, as these bikes probably are something very dear to him...
It sure would be great if they were put on display for a time at the AMA museum in Columbus, OH. I might actually get to see a factory NSR that way! I've talked to someone there about having my SP in the museum but man, I'd have major withdrawl during that time. If I recall correctly, the display period is at least a year. If a nice enough collector gets the Spencer bikes, an awesome setup could be created with the two bikes in a proper setting like a huge living room or museum.
He certainly attracted a crowd at the Classic stafford show last year. Plenty of people around listening with interest to his open chat about his life. And lots people wanting various things signing! Can't be all bad! _________________ 92 MC21 NSR250SE / 09 ZZR1400
I live more in 5 minutes of riding my motorcycle than some people live in their whole lifetime!
Now if he could God instead of religeon, that'd be amazing! He could become the omnipotent beings manager and representative, then sell the marketing rights to the highest bidder - which might solve his problems! _________________ MC21SP Plaything
