MC21 R STANCTIONS INTO MC28 SP FORK BOTTOMS

Tue Apr 20, 2010 7:06 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Will MC21 R model front fork stanctions fit into MC28 SP model front fork bottoms and using the MC28 SP internals?
Just an idea I'm toying with but not sure if it is possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, meant to ask in the last post, can the stanctions be repaired or re-coated if there is a bit of rust on them?

You can have the stanchions rechromed .

Have you thought about trying the vfr 400 bottoms to use bigger disc's ?

OK, but will the MC21 R's fit into the MC28 SP bottoms?
I suppose what I'm asking is are the MC21 R model stanctions and the MC28 SP stanctions one and the same.

Part #'s are different, so based on that I would say they are not the same parts.

I do know that visually the brake mounting and fender mounting points are different, as is the oil seal stopper ring.

I can tell you the fork stanctions are different for mc28 as I bought a brand new pair of stanctions from japan only to find they were for a R MODEL they would not take my se internals .Still have the brand new Honda mc28 R model stanctions as I bought them on japan yahoo.Tried to sell them a couple of times on here but no takers so dont think many R models made it here. Crying or Very sad

I can tell you that 21sp stansions and internals fit in 28R fork bottoms as it's what I'm using on my bike.
