rear sets for MC21

Thu Jun 18, 2009 7:24 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Are there any rear sets (step kits) that maintain the stock positions? (I have clearance issues with the right-side exhaust and old age issues for the legs that preclude anything mounted higher and farther back!). I'd really just like to get a direct bolt on that maintains the current footpeg positions but gives solid-mount, knurled pegs. Thanks for any leads.

yes, I understand that aspect of rear sets, but part of the appeal is the better grip (and yes looks) of the solid-mount, knurled pegs. The rubber surfaces on my stockers look like crap and are slippery so I just want to see what's out there.

Why not just bolt some solid knurled footrests to your Honda hangars?

If you talk to Matt@TYGA nicely I'm sure he'll do you a pair of footrests. You will probably just need to file a flat on the mounting lug so they sit flush into the hole on the hangar.

Thanks, Andy. I was wondering if something like that would work.

update - Okay, so I found what I was looking for. For anyone interested in bolt on, solid knurled pegs for grip or show that keeps the stock position, Sato Racing sells a set of universal Honda pegs for $75 US that fit the bill nicely. Really good customer service, direct bolt on (includes all necessary bolts, spacers, etc.). No connection, just a satisfied customer.

Hope that saves someone some time, as none of the other possible vendors suggested in a related thread (http://www.nsr250.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8722&highlight=foot+pegs) carried a direct bolt on.

Thanks for the info on the pegs and the link. Exactly what I'm looking for.
