Front Sprocket Float

Sat Jul 31, 2010 4:19 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Just checking the wear on the front sprocket and I noticed that there seems a lot of float of the sprocket on the drive shaft.

I am more used to sprockets having a nut to hold them solidly in place so this seems a bit different.

How much is normal

Depends what transmission you're using, eh Steve?! Wink

But yeah, on a stock NSR transmission, there's quite a lot of movement.

The downside with those HRC transmissions is often the need to shim the rear sprocket carrier.
