Question about MC28 Valve issues

Wed Mar 29, 2017 1:16 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi guys,

I was wondering if someone can help me out, seems to be having problems with this part:
06140-KV3-980

On mine, the bolt had striped and I cannot take off the bolt from the rod.

I was wondering also if you have any ideas/ resource where to get the replacement, I saw some on YAJ, but mostly they are for MC-21 and I am not sure if it will fit MC-28.

Any ideas / help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Just checking you know the nut is undone clockwise?
From my searches all new pv shafts are discontinued.Auction site are probably the only option

NS Factory do have a request for reproduction on their site

As RobH says, be aware it's a left-hand thread. I found this out the hard way : )

Are you sure you can't find any way of gripping it, or perhaps get someone with a welder to tack a bit of bar on it? Chances are the shaft is ok, then you just need a new nut. I think they're M6x1mm, left-hand, but best check.

Also, 21 and 28, should be the same.

It's only the oil seal that holds it in. There is an E clip that locates the PV shaft, but that only sits behind the seal. I used a vice with fibre jaw plates, clamped the PV shaft and pulled the shaft out

Tyga make an RC valve puller. I can't remember how I did mine previously, I think like RobH I used fibre jaws in the vice and tapped it out patiently.
