So I went out to start my NSR after the winter and it sounded like there was a knock coming from it. Maybe its just me. Let me know what you think, I hope you can hear everything okay in the video.

Definitely something rattling there, almost sounds like a small end rattling, but before you start getting too worried check things like your clutch, ie, has the centre nut come loose ?, could be a miriad of things, strange if it was ok when you last put her away. Oddly enough, last year, i had a rattle develop on my RS250 at a track day, convinced it was the clutch come loose, i couldn't find anything wrong till i got home and found an engine mount had come loose and the nut was just rattling away like the clappers. Just go round it and make sure nothing has come loose before you go digging too deep, hope it's not too serious. Cheers Les.

As Les says, check around for something loose first. You did however have that 2T oil pump seal issue, and may have had starvation, Did you use the bike much after you fixed that?

No bearly used it at all. I just took off the clutch cover and all the bolts are good and tight. I Checked all the mounts and brackets and they arr good. When i pull in the clutch it doesnt change. However when i rev it, it does get louder with the revs. Im starting to think its in the engine. It certainly sounds that way too.

had a hour or two so i went out and checked it. checked everywhere and took the plastics off before i started it so i could source the noise. Its definitely coming from the engine. sounds like the big end but its hard to tell. i literally feel like crying.

Hi there
I am not convinced its big ends, It doesn't sound like 2000 rpm knock to me, It sounds more like transmission, first thing I would check is flywheel bolt then check the clutch hub nut holding clutch basket to main shaft there is a spring washer and a tab nut to dent in maybe its come undone

I spoke with Arron tonight and he said he will reimburse you and collect it if you want to sell it,
Good luck,
jonmac
