Hi
My MC21 is in plain black and the fairing does have a few breaks etc.
I always wanted a Rothmans scheme so was looking online and there are so many aftermarket sellers (mainly Chinese) so I wondered has anyone bought a set? Where from? Are they good quality, fitment and colour match?
Is there a UK seller of these kits? I would also like the tank cover to if possible.
Any advice would be great.
Cheers
Vic
The tank covers are abysmal, in my opinion, both in looks and in fitment.
Someone else will need to chime in on fairing kits though, as my experience of [early] Chinese stuff is also dire, however I've heard the latest ABS panels are fairly good.
If it were me, I would have genuine panels professionally repaired and painted every time, over fitting Chinese panels. _________________ Andy.

Hi Vic
I just wondered how you got on? did you buy a Rothmans kit as I am interested as well.
It says he's in Lidcombe, NSW (Australia) on his website...but he told me he was in the process of moving to Tasmania (Australia) though
the last time I spoke to him a few months back?
If you scroll down to the Honda section it says Rothmans (but doesn't say what model it's for)...but I think I remember him telling me it
was for NSR250? Unless I'm remembering wrong?
I've never used him before...but a few people I've came across in the past have told me he does good quality work, and I'm going to get him to make
copies of my OEM Honda NSR150SP 'Repsol' stickers at some point in the future when I get a complete set (I'm only
missing about 3 or 4 from memory).
Also...the British Pound (Sterling) is almost double the value of the Australian Dollar at the moment.
Anyway...goodluck with your NSR250 'Rothmans' quest!

These are for MC28 Rothmans...but in the listing he also say's he has the Rothmans MC21 decal set.
I know you asked about fairings...but getting good quality new decals and fitting to freshly painted OEM body work is a second option if you want better quality, and
are willing to spend more money?
I ended up buying a fairing set from China, and to be perfectly honest I was surprised how good they are. I wanted a Cadalora rep set.
On visual inspection I would say they are 95% perfect, if I am ultra picky I could find tiny issues but in general I think they are very good value for money.
I took my time in selecting a seller I trusted, I did my research and understand the difference between injection moulded ABS and compression moulded ABS.
They are a little heavier than OEM, I suspect because the panel thickness will vary substantially in comparison.
I was pleased that I could also make colour changes and requests to get the paint job I wanted.
Enclosed an image of the panels prior to fitment.
I will post up some more images when they finally make the bike but I am busy working on cleaning up the chassis etc first.
PS. I would recommend Image Works for any graphic requests, they have the pattern for the Rothmans kit on file
I've read a lot of good comments about Image Works, but never used him myself.
Personally I like to design and cut all my own stickers wherever possible, but I only have a vinyl cutter so have to resort to layered composites for anything multicoloured. I'd like to get a nice Roland printer/plotter, but they're stupidly expensive for anyone not trying to make a business out of it.
Some of my previous work...
I also did all the design work for the Cup Noodles you now see on eBay, and GTPE's HRC SP1 in Cabin.
I've even done an RGV kit!

I did all the design work for the Cup Noodles, and then the bodywork was supplied from China. Nobody had done Cup Noodle before (well, not that I know of), not even Silhouette in Japan, who had a lot of replica/retro bodykits in their catalogue. The kits looked OK from a distance, but basically it was a disaster. Even supplying the them the vector image files, they still buggered some of them up! (The yellow stripe should be the same gold as the gold bike, and the NISSIN read NISSNI, for example! ) It wouldn't have been so bad if we'd just paid and that's what turned up, as it was cheap, but there were countless e-mails discussing my requirements (even saying I would pay more to ensure it was done well), and got all the promises in the world, only to receive bodywork that wasn't far off appalling! Hence why I don't have anything good to say about Chinese bodywork! All the Noodle kits you see on eBay now are my graphics.

It wasn't easy switching the Rothmans rep. to the Cadalora but with persistence it worked out OK for me. Communications were OK with the manufacturer, especially supported with images etc
I'm not mad on the number boards or the number "3" on my kit but I figured I can overlay them with standard matt green race vinyl backs etc if I want to...
TBH I'm more of a standard person myself but my bike came with the wrong OEM paint job on OEM panels anyway. I plan to return them to standard sometime.
First things first I need to get the bike back on the road and some mileage on it!

The gold one is StephenRC45's, and is now all white (with green number boards), and on display down at GT Motorcycles. It's full HRC TT-F3 spec, and makes 74rwhp. I seem to recall he got the weight down to something like 112kg too.
Mine's HRC SS400 spec (with a few extras like the NF5 forks), and still currently in Cup Noodle, but won't be by the time its restoration's finished. I've not decided what it will be though. Maybe OEM Rothmans, although I do like an accurate replica! It's got to be absolutely bang on perfect though if a replica. _________________ Andy.

I had trouble finding someone in my country who can do 'metallic' on decals/stickers...and who could also do a single set if required (instead of a minimum
order of 100 etc).
I finally found the MotoGraphix guy that I mentioned.
Some other companies I spoke said they could use clear vinyl to print on...then the metallic paint on the bike would act as the metallic parts of it (which
I didn't want to do though).
Very nice job on all your decals Andy!
Thanks also Matt for your mention of The Image Works...I've bookmarked their website for future possible use for some other projects.
