So I need my MC21 Magteks to be painted in Repsol orange, but not any orange. I want them paint matched to the exact orange that is on my NSR 500 replica fairings that Tyga sell for the 250. I've rang around a few magnesium painting companies in Ireland and they all said that they only powder coat and cant paint match. I also need my MC28 Magteks painted black (the Repsol SP black). Is there any companies in the UK, such as Steve Turner, that colour match Magteks? I could get the liquid paint made up myself as there is a very good colour matching shop in my local town and then I could send that paint with the wheels to get done properly. Any help is appreciated lads as my head is melted with trying to figure this out. _________________ John 3:7
Steve got back to me and said that he cant use wet paint to colour match my magteks as he is not set up for it. He only powder coats them. Basically the black magteks I got with my MC28 are in bad shape and need to be done and on my MC21 I have the 500V fairings and it would be a shame if the orange on the wheels was different from the orange on the fairings, it would totally ruin the look imo. Does anybody have any ideas or black MC28 magteks to sell/swap with me? id give money your way too of course.
okay so I can get the magteks powder coated here in Ireland but the only colours can be in RAL paint codes. Below is a link to all the RAL codes. I assume, if Honda used the RAL system, they used RAL 9005 for the black. However the repsol orange Tyga used could be any on of about 5 or 6 on that list. Ive emailed Tyga and asked them what orange RAL colour they used but no reply yet. Hopefully Honda and Tyga used the RAL system and it will be a perfect colour match.

You're hoping! TYGA will be using the Thai system... good luck with that! Nothing against their paintwork, it's very good, and pretty accurate, but expecting the Thais to work to an international system is laughable at best. I may be wrong, but I'll bet a can of Coke and a Mars Bar on it! 🤣🤣
Try Reality Motorworks. They did all the NSR500 and RC30/45 magnesium wheels when I was at Performance Engineering, and I'm certain painted the wheels on the TSR to get the correct HRC gold colour match. If anyone can paint them, I expect they can. _________________ Andy.

Thanks Andy, I will give them a ring. Yeah hoping against hope seems to be the constant theme when dealing with NSR's. At least in my experience anyway. The other option I have is taking it to a local paint shop that has the machine to get the exact paint code and then I can see what the closest RAL paint would be and, again, HOPEFULLY they are very similar.
I had my MC18 wheels powder coated at Reality. Everything that they do is top quality. _________________ Why do things simply when you can complicate them
