My bike test is not going so well.....

Hey all. I've been out prepping for test day so I can ride this thing legally. Even after two days though, I'm havin trouble with "The Box" since I'm hitting both locks and still can't keep it inside without putting a foot down. Counterbalancing and throttle is plenty, I just can't get it tight enough. I wish my stateside licence would apply here, but the buggers won't accept it and wan't me to take the course for Japan's roads.

Question: Is the stock steering set at a narrower swivel then most other bikes out there? If so, I'm temped to get a friggin 125 to hack this rider's proficiancy test.

I did my bike test in England on a Yamaha SR125 theyre really easy to use for the test as they have a really good turning circle. Get one for the test, or a Honda CG125.

Took a look at a pic of the SR and CG and those look good for the job. I was thinking along the lines of an old YZ with turn signals, but just about all dual purpose dirt bikes are four strokes unless they're ancient. Like an XT 125 if I can find one.

Just buy whatever's best for the test and sell it straight after. Something cheap and popular!

When I did my test I had a TZR125. Apart from being told I was taking the pi$$ turning up on a bike with a Swarbrick race pipe, open airbox, modified carb, fully working YPVS (c/w TZR250 control unit), and alternative gearing, the instructor couldn't even get it through the cones properly!

I did the best I could; he then did the best he could, and then agreed that the cones were all a waste of time anyway and gave me my CBT certificate!

He then told me to bring the TZR back the following day "as stock as possible" to complete the course! Laughing

I see.....

I wonder why the turn radius is so small? To keep the bikes from fishtailing after a serious turn or to maintain stability?

Bad design! I guess they concentrated on getting the racebike look, and didn't think about the bike test...
